Vista Outdoor Journeyman Electrician- CCI/Speer in Lewiston, Idaho

Job Description

Our Lewiston, ID location is seeking a Weekend Swing Journeyman Electrician to add to our team. The Weekend Swing Journeyman Electrician supports our manufacturing facility through planning, layout, repairing and maintaining electrical systems to supply power to equipment and areas of the plant, according to blueprints, drawings, sketches and state and local codes, in a safe and efficient manner.

As the Journeyman Electrician, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Repair and maintain electrical and related equipment used in production and support operations.

  • Diagnose problems and implement solutions using troubleshooting skills and necessary personal diagnostic equipment.

  • Read, understand, and create electrical schematics.

  • Work closely with Project Technicians validating and creating electrical schematics.

  • Communicate recommended repairs, replacement parts, and/or spares to be ordered for job request and production areas.

  • Submit requisitions for signature by the Supervisor, Engineer or Project Manager involved.

  • Completes assigned work orders on priority basis per Technical Coordinators or Management direction.

  • Receive and complete work orders that may not be assigned when working shifts that do not have a Technical Coordinator or Management available to give direction.

  • Completes PM’s as assigned by the Technical Coordinator by known priority.

  • Checks and monitors newly installed electronic equipment to ensure stability and operation.

  • Maintains electronic equipment that is susceptible to dirty environments.

  • Cleans and services any electrical components and peripheral devices as required.

  • Assists Engineering in troubleshooting and fabricating new devices when directed to do so by Technical Coordinator or Plant Facilities Manager.

  • Keeps Plant Facilities Technical Coordinator, Plant Facilities Manager and Department Management informed on condition, capability, and probability of usefulness of present equipment.

  • Works with Project Technicians and Engineers on designs, wiring of new and upgraded panels and equipment.

  • Maintains computer-controlled equipment and their programs.

  • Keeps work area clean and organized, follows 5S principles.

  • Trains new employees to the department standards and necessary skills as assigned.

  • Provides volunteer coverage for vacations on other shifts.

  • Responds to emergency calls after the regularly scheduled shift ends, or on weekends when available.

You have/are:

  • A self-starter and willing to work in a true teamwork environment with minimal supervision.

  • Willing to work any shift.

  • Able to handle diversified duties requiring independent action.

  • Able to work independently, follow set repair priorities, and order parts.

  • Able to work with and communicate effectively with department Management and balance work flow and demand of multiple customers.

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience using PLC’s as a troubleshooting tool is preferred.

  • Must hold a current state journeyman electrician’s license (if not Idaho, must be able to get reciprocity within 60 days.)
