Vista Outdoor Environmental Engineer - CCI/Speer in Lewiston, Idaho
Our Lewiston, ID Location is seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer . Primarily responsible for coordinating environmental management activities and provides oversight for daily environmental management operations including air emissions, spill prevention plan, and stormwater plan. Ensures compliance with applicable local, State, and Federal environmental regulatory requirements. Acts as on-scene commander and coordinates with emergency responders for chemical spills and releases.
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or business administration/management or experience in lieu of education.
5 years’ work experience in general environmental regulations and reporting.
Thorough understanding and broad application of environmental regulations, standards, principles, theories, and techniques. Willing to learn safety regulations and standards.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, consistently accurate record keeping with a high attention to detail.
Good math skills with the ability to recognize improbable results.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
Certified State of Idaho water distribution operator with current license
40 Hour HAZWOPR certification
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel to analyze data and summarize information. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders and reaches with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Mental Requirements: Must communicate effectively in verbal and written formats. Reading comprehension and basic math skills are a requirement. Flexibility to effectively deal with a variety of people and situations and to handle interruptions and multiple tasks simultaneously. Quick thinking and problem solving to readily assimilate information. Ability to maintain tact and highly professional manners. Initiative to effectively complete tasks with little or no supervision. The ability to identify and appropriately handle confidential information.
