JOB OVERVIEW

As the Global Leader of Sales and Market Development, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the company’s market expansion and sales strategy worldwide.

You will report to the CEO of the Adventure Sports Pillar and will join a dynamic executive team that leads the future defined by innovation, purpose, and strategic excellence. As a global leader, you will provide clear and inspirational guidance to your team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and purpose.

You will be responsible for translating your division initiatives vision into actionable strategies and leading your team toward achieving long-term growth objectives across brands, geographies, channels, and customers.

The Head of Global Markets will significant influence over the P&L for the company’s business unit operations around the world. This individual’s key commercial reports include Heads of Sales for each of the company’s regions (North America, Europe, and International), a leader of the organizations 7 Company-owned retail operations, a Sales Operation Planning Executive, and a Sales and Dealer Support Executive. This team is complemented by dotted line functional leads devoted to the North American operations in marketing, finance, human resources, and product supply.

This individual and their team will be responsible for growing both the top line and bottom line of the global operations across all Seven Brands (Bell, Giro, Fox, Blackburn, Krash, Raskullz and Co-Pilot) and four of the company’s lines of business – Powersport, Cycling, Snow, and Lifestyle. They will work closely with both corporate marketing and product development providing insights from the field, consumers, and customers reporting their sentiments on the health of the brands and product needs.

This position reports to the CEO and works from the Irvine, CA headquarters.

As the Head of Global Markets , you will have an opportunity to:

Market Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive market strategy to drive revenue growth and market share expansion.

  • Develop a growth acceleration plan for each of the regions executing a “Rider First!” initiative rebalancing the focus from customers to consumers (riders).

  • Envision a integrated marketplace strategy that permeates all aspects of trade, customer, and consumer programs.

  • Developretailer segmentation, retailer value propositions and supporting programs.

Market Research:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and customer preferences, and use their data to make informed decisions.

Sales Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performance team that fosters a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with the VP of NA Sales and Market Development to identify and implement strategies for the sales team by setting targetsand develop strategies to achieve sales goals.

  • Build out regional marketing teams to serve channels, customers, and retailers with an array of events, trade marketing, PR, and other grassroots initiatives.

  • Create a plan for the company’s retail operation that complement our retail customers operations.

Market Expansion:

  • Identify new market opportunities and evaluate potential regions for expansion. Develop market entry plans and partnerships where necessary.

  • Organize and Optimize the Go-to-Market model to achieve the business objectives

Product Positioning:

  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that products meet market demands and are positioned effectively.

  • Develop a clearer strategy including optimal channel makeup for lifestyle product line.

  • Articulate value proposition by segment (digital, sporting goods, specialty) adjusting the merchandising strategy rationalizing product assortment by customer segment and building a digital platform to support our retailers.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the markets budget, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and optimizing ROI.

Competitor Analysis:

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market position to stay ahead of the competition.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing market team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

  • Assess talent and the team making selective recruitments where necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and operations to ensure a coordinated approach to market strategies.

Performance Metrics:

  • Establish and track key performance indicators, to measure the success of market initiatives. Make data-driven decisions to adjust strategies as needed.

  • Identify and track the appropriate KPIs to assess brand health, market share, sales, and margins to improve the business.

You have:

  • least 15 years of experience to have included leading multidisciplinary teams in a consumer business.

  • BA/BS Degree in Business and/or Marketing

  • General management experience on top of strong commercial marketing and sales background to have included a diversity of channels and customers

  • Demonstrable P&L experience managing both the top line and the bottom line

  • A general management mindset with an ability to marshal all the functional expertise of an organization to successfully grow sales and develop broader deeper retail relationships. Drive financial performance and results, own the global P&L for our regions and markets.

  • This individual needs to be able to take data from the field and customers, interpret trends and opportunities, and come up with creative solutions not only within the sales function but across all the functions of the organization.

  • A keen sense of field marketing with experience across events, promotions, trade marketing, and grassroots programs.

  • This individual needs to be a superb communicator allowing him to engage with a broad set of internal and customer constituencies and to act as an effective spokesperson in the marketplace.

  • Our successful candidate will have a deep understanding of digital commerce and its implications for a consumer products manufacturer and its e-commerce and bricks and mortar customers.

  • Familiarity with retail operations would be ideal.

  • This is an industry where both the consumers and the retailers are passionate about their sport. As such, are successful candidate must have, or be able to develop, a passion for motosports, snowsports, cycling, or all.

  • Launched new countries with direct operations.

  • Deep understanding of omnichannel business operations, optimize each brands route to market in each region and country

  • Lead and manage the regional business units, setting goals and providing direction, coaching, and mentoring to ensure the team achieves its objectives

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and partners to ensure business growth and customer satisfaction

  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities and adjust strategy as needed

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products, ensuring a successful market introduction

  • Work closely with the executive team to provide regular updates on sales performance, market trends, and strategic opportunities
