Job Description
Elite member of the Product Engineering Team with the purpose to discover and pursue revolutionary product technologies and concepts. Will work alongside Product Development Engineers, Product Marketing and Product Management, members of the Product Engineering Team will plan, design, test, and pursue future new products for Remington Ammunition.
This position reports to the Director of Product Engineering and is based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas facility.
As the Sr. Product Engineer, you will have an opportunity to:
Work hand in hand with the Product Management Team in the concept develop and testing of new product technologies and solutions.
Conceive, research, plan, design, develop, and implement (into Production) new products and systems.
Work with cross functional team to bring new products through a formal product introduction process.
Collaborate with Product Development Engineers to create product system requirements, develop product solutions, create verification and validation procedures.
Discover product design technologies - vendors, industry/trade conferences, customer meetings, etc.
Evaluate external and internal product concepts.
Engage adjacent industries in pursuit of product technology.
Develop product concept prototypes.
Interface with Product Engineers to vet product performance requirements, verification test procedures, manufacturing process technologies, etc.
Perform product competitive analysis.
Leverage industry expertise in analytical modeling, computational analysis, rapid prototyping.
Plan and direct support personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment and develops methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
Manage development projects to their completion by documenting and transferring manufacturing data to the Production Organization.
Possess and apply a comprehensive engineering knowledge applicable to the design, development and testing of ammunition products.
Prepares technical reports for use by Engineering or Management personnel for long- and short-range planning or for use by Marketing personnel in sales or technical services activities.
You have:
B.S. in Engineering or Science from an accredited or nationally recognized college or university
A minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient with CAD/CAM/CAE software, preferably SolidWorks, finite element analysis and mechanical simulation programs a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft PC based software.
Program management skills.
Background in ammunition development, ballistics, firearms, and related processes.
Experience related to military service, hunting, competitive shooting, and reloading.
